The academic team at Royal High School competed at the El Campo invitational meet on Saturday,  January 17th. The science team captured the  meet championship,  outscoring Victoria West and El Campo for top honors. Jesus Hernandez was first overall the top performer in Chemistry. is the W.C. Schultz Junior High School  competition cheer team who won second place in  the junior high division at the Galveston IslandNational Championship. One team member, Isabel Byrd, won the standout WOW award out of 1,500 competitors. This was the last competition of the school year, and a tremendous achievement for the 
competition cheer team. Falcon Soccer, under the leadership of Head  Coach Anderson and Coaches Stamps and Perez has gotten off to a great start. January 6. The team took down Smithville in
its first game 7-1, The Falcons participated in the first part of the Ginddings tourney that was cancelled due to inclement weather. With over 20 teams in the tournament,
they tied El Campo 2-2 but lost 8-7 in a heart-breaking shoot-out. Jason Rivas led the Falcons with five goals. Other STAR Falcons included: Jose Perez with 2 goals, Mario Garcia, Pranav Kalyani and JOnathan Martinez who scored 1 goal each. With such a great start, the coaches are optimistic for the 2015 District season.
