Tuesday October 7, Brookshire Police Department and the Royal ISD Police Department held the First Annual Night Out in Brookshire. Waller County Sheriff’s Department was on hand with a SWATCH vehicle and the Brookshire Fire Department also provided trucks and lit the night up with blue and red flashing lights. A large crowd of several hundred people came in and out of downtown Brookshire, enjoying the night.

Saturday, October 11, the Katy Prairie Conservancy held what is touted as the ultimate scavenger hunt. Volunteers and visitors were able to participate in a census of whatever lives, grows or passes through and over the prairie. The Bioblitz was held at all locations for the Katy Prairie Conservancy and provided a census.

Monday, September 29, Democratic Party Chairman Ben Tibbs, who is also a City of Hempstead Alderman, issued a press release. In the press release, he asked the Waller County Commissioner’s Court to table its October 1, 2014 vote on a $10,000 disbursement to the Waller County Fair Association.
