Director Earnest Kelley and his crew were busy building a Lone Star base to create higher visibility for bicentennial marker. The project is the joint work of BEDC and Public Works. The marker was placed along Highway 90 in 1976 by the Brookshire Pattison Bicentennial Committee.

During the nine weeks of training, Pvt. Bills studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Many great things happened at Royal ECC this past week. One of my favorites is the Grandparents’ Day Breakfast. The breakfast was held on September 4 for grandparents of PK students and on September 5 for grandparents of K parents. Pictured is Dorothy Hein with her granddaughter, Alyssa Colbert.
